The average person encounters over 100 chemicals, before breakfast!! Okay, cmon guys... We can do SO much better than that. 

According to Charlotte Brody, RN, an Executive Director of Commonweal: “Mine can include shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, hair gel, toothpaste, moisturizer and sunscreen and, on special occasions, foundation, powder, blush, lipstick, and mascara. My daily use of personal care products is about average, according to the Skin Deep report by the Environmental Working Group.”

Let’s not forget the creamer in your coffee and Perfluorinated Compounds (PFCs) found in nonstick pans.... Yeah, now your eggs are infected. 

Let’s start simply. Soap is the basis of life.

There’s a common misconception in the soap industry.

If your soaps laps are colored, most likely, it contains chemicals. 99% of soap makers use micas and ‘natural colorants’ to create vibrant soaps. While beautiful, these micas are toxic. They contain cancer causing chemicals, such as Chromium Oxides, Ultramarines, and Iron Oxides. They are inorganic compounds, some containing heavy metals and have been proven to cause cancer. Not to mention, the fragrances used to obtain heavy aromatic scents. This is NOT natural soap.

Soap. Candles. Shampoo. Conditioner. Lotion. Face wash. Serums. And more! All of these products contain fragrance. As yummy as these treats may smell, they contain carcinogens. Further, leading to cancer and other health defects.

One question sits in the back of my head - What exactly is a fragrance?

After intensive research into the cruel world of chemicals put into everyday products, I couldn’t help but wonder: “How can I warn more people about the dangers of chemicals, being secretly added to our soap?”
