1. What if I don’t want to commit to the soap club?
There is no "commiting." You only pay for one month (one delivery) when you sign up. If you don't want soap the following month (or the third month or whatever month), just pause your membership at any time by logging into your customer portal! It's very easy. You can even set it to skip certain months and just leave it alone and let your club orders ship only when directed by you...Welcome to the club!
2. What soaps will I get with my order?
Every month is a surprise! Each order is packaged with the best luxury bars of the month...each one has cured for 6-10 weeks, making them free of irritants, intensely moisturizing and a joy in the shower.
3. What are your soaps made from?
Every bar of soap is handcrafted in my soap lab using a formula I personally developed. Every bar pampers even the most sensitive skin.
I only use organic and non-gmo ingredients and distilled water.
Typical fats used are tallow, shea butter as well as olive, castor, coconut, canola and unrefined, sustainable palm oil. My specialty bars use neem, turmeric, activated charcoal and many other amazing, natural additives to nourish the skin.
4. Are your bars antibiotic?
Yes! Every bar I make is naturally antibiotic and antiviral! That means you are healthy without the use of chemicals like triclosan! It also means you don't harm your hormones, which triclosan has been proven to do! Sadly, it's in most liquid soaps, but not in any of mine!
5. Do you ship outside of the US?
No, unless you have an APO.
6. What size are your bars?
Each Carefree bar is approximately 4 to 4.5 ounces. Size varies due to being hand cut. Most store bought bars are smaller at about 3.0 to 3.5 ounces or less.
7. Do you take custom orders?
Yes. I take custom orders for weddings, baby showers and other events. The minimum order is 50 bars. Price ranges from $7.50 to $9.95/bar depending on color, essential oils and fats used, plus shipping and handling. Email me at [email protected] to place your order.
8. How do you scent your bars?
My bars are scented with organic, essential oils, such as frankincense, tea tree, lavender, lemon, lime, spikenard, lemon, cinnamon, patchouli, bay rum and several others.
9. How are your bars different from the ones in the store?
They are scented with essential oils, not cancer causing, perfumes. Also, they don't contain harmful, drying chemicals such as dioxanes, parabens, mineral oil, triclosan, sodium laurel sulphate, sodium benzoate or phosphates. Furthermore, they look amazing and are a fine addition to any bathroom. And finally, they last up to 3 times longer, making them much less expensive than anything you will find in a store!
10. What does curing mean?
Curing is when a bar of soap is set aside for a few week or even up to a year to allow water to evaporate and continue the saponification process. This age-old technique ensures that there's no lye or water left in your soap bar. The final product is a hard, smooth to touch, moisturizing bar that lasts long, lathers to kill bacteria, fungus and viruses and smells great.
11. Will my bars melt in the summer heat?
No. They will get soft. But once at room temperature they will go back to their original hardness.
12. How often do you ship to Soap Club members?
I ship once per month, around the 25th. If you order early in the month, be patient, your bars are curing, being packaged and preparing for their voyage to your front door! See question 13.
13. Who makes the soap?
I make the soap. But during the busy times, my dad, George, friends and family pitch in.
14. How do you make your soap bars last so long?
Secret chemistry taught by my dad. But don’t worry, it’s completely natural, safe and actually beneficial to your skin. It has a lot to do with temperature, bringing to trace, percentage of beeswax and superfat %.
15. How do you ship your bars?
I ship bars on the last week of every month via USPS 2-Day Priority Mail, Insured, with love.
16. How do you ensure the safety of your soap?
Every bar is safe enough to eat, as confirmed by the classic tongue-test established by crazy chemists ages ago.
